As an experienced guitarist, Brett has opened for and played with such bands as Yuma, Airkraft, The Distance, Outrider, Canadian Hall of Famer Larry Mercey (Mercey Brothers), Robyn Pauhl, various tribute acts and Radio King. He currently plays with Kitchener’s own “Glider” (formed in 1980 and became one of Ontario’s most popular Top 40 bands) with Grant Cummings, Dave “Fritz” Belbeck and Mike Kipper. He is also a member of party band “Moonshine” with Mark Waechter, James Hastings, Jody Moser and Steve Todd.

I have been taking lessons with Brett for about 6 years. I came to guitar playing later in life and don’t have a solid base of music theory. Brett has been great to work with as he teaches me the basics and skills I need to play the music I’m interested in. It’s fun and we’re exploring a lot of the great songs of my youth. Brett has an unbelievable knowledge of guitar playing and musical styles. He has a great ‘ear’: he can hear a song and quickly figure out how to approach it. I’ve seen his students, they are young and old, and run the gamete from acoustic strummers to classical and rock preferences. I would highly recommend him to you. — Glenn Scheels, Kitchener, Ontario
